SOLO Wilderness First Responder in Costa Rica

Get SOLO Certification, Enjoy an Eco-Adventure Trip of a Lifetime!

‘It’s humid, hot, muddy and sometimes cold at night, but it’s exactly this which makes the beautiful elements of the jungle just that bit more fantastic. Hidden waterfalls, incredible rivers, primary rainforest and then, of course, the chance of seeing elusive wildlife, jaguars, jaguarondis, monkeys and the plethora of ants, scorpions, spiders and snakes. This is the trip of a lifetime!"

SOLO Southeast has teamed up with Costa Rican Resource to provide a truly amazing opportunity to train as a Wilderness First Responder in one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. You will follow the standard WFR curriculum over an 8-day period. However, this class includes a whitewater rafting trip on the Pacuare River, jungle expeditions and extra-curricular classes on jungle survival, medicinal plant hikes and an overnight camping trip. You will stay in basic accommodations with all meals included. Feel free to extend your stay after your class and continue to explore the eco-paradise of Costa Rica! Space is limited and we do require a good level of fitness and proof of all vaccinations required for this region.

SOLO Wilderness First Responder (WFR) courses are the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors and students in outdoor recreational programs. The 72-hour curriculum includes standards for urban and extended-care situations.
